For the past 2 ½ years, Bill Freeman has been a Business Consultant for the corridor Region of the Maryland Small Business and Technology Development Center. The SBTDC is a non-profit management consulting firm focused on small business formation, retention and expansion designed to achieve increased sales, job growth and increased tax revenues for the State of Maryland.

Bill provides no cost counseling services to the client and is a workshop presenter to businesses in the Montgomery County community. Other services he provides includes; business plan review, 8(a) & MBE application reviews, preparing funding packages and assisting businesses to move to the next level. With more than twenty- five years of financial services experience, he offers expertise in: underwriting, commercial lending, small business development and portfolio administration.

Prior to joining the SBTDC, Bill worked as a Commercial Relationship Manager for SunTrust Bank, First Union and earlier in his career, several other regional banks in the Baltimore-Washington area. He has extensive experience working with small businesses, as well as, community based and nonprofit organizations.

Bill began his banking career as an Assistant National Bank Examiner for the Comptroller of the Currency, United States Treasury Department. He earned a Bachelor of Business degree in Business Administration with a minor in accounting from The Pennsylvania State University.
