New Venture Series Courses:
1) Business Start Up
This workshop addresses the legal, accounting, and insurance issues to consider when starting a new business in Maryland. Ultimately, you’ll leave this workshop with an overview of everything it takes to start a successful business in Maryland.
You’ll learn how to:
- Legally define your business and register your business name
- Keep proper financial records and report taxes
- Assess the insurance requirements needed to safeguard your business and personal assets
2) Business Plan Development
The Business Plan workshop is designed to assist entrepreneurs in moving ideas from mind to paper in an organized, clear and concise manner, while keeping a focus on key points. In this workshop, you will learn how to develop a well crafted plan that will act as a blueprint as you build, maintain or expand your business. It is also a requirement if you plan to present your company as a viable and sustainable business entity in the financing process.
You’ll learn how to develop the key sections of a business plan, including an:
- Executive summary
- Business description
- Proposed management team and employees
- Operations and suppliers
- Customer and market analysis (marketing, competition, location)
- Plan strategy (including a SWOT Analysis)
- Financial statements (balance sheet, operating statement, personal finances, cash flow)
